PCIS lower elementary school

At PCIS we follow STEM and Humanities courses. At PCIS we believe that both STEM and HUMANITIES classes are important. Student will study to develop their minds to be scientific and rational but with a moral and spiritual base. Where most schools focus on STEM we choose to focus on both. As we want that our student become empaths, critical thinkers with a love for art, music and discover the meaning of ethics and morality. Students from PCIS will become students with a wide interest and broader knowledge and understanding of many subjects.

we need stem and humanities classes together

  • Empathy and understanding for others
  • Exploration of personal beliefs
  • Critical thinking
  • Appreciation for world art, literature, and music
  • Discovering (or questioning) the meaning of ethics and morality
  • Analysis skills

Besides the core subjects of Mathematics, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies all students attend Spanish classes and weekly Art, Music and Physical Education classes.

STEM:  science, technology, engineering, and math.
These are all areas of learning that our kids need to be comfortable with to excel in the future. STEM makes creators, thinkers, problem solvers, doers, innovators, and inventors.

HUMAN: all other courses at school. world art, music, languages, reading, they learn to explore their personal beliefs, empathy for other, become critical thinkers, learn to share subjects and start intentional discussions about uncomfortable subjects, investigate, analysis skills and much more.

Jacquie    benjamin

My name is Jacquie Benjamin and I am from British Columbia, Canada.  I have worked in the school setting for over 15 years in Canada and I have spent my last 7 years at Panama Coast International School.  It has been an amazing experience to be involved in a school that allows and encourages students to be themselves in a  safe and supportive environment both personally and academically.  I love my job at P.C.I.S. watching each student learn, grow and develop into outstanding individuals. Thank you for allowing me this opportunity to be a part of your child’s development.
